TOWN OF LINCOLN
PUBLIC HEARING – BUDGET MEETING
NOVEMBER 8, 2011 8:00 p.m.
Members Present: Board Chairman, 4 Board Members, Clerk, Treasurer, and 13 public members
Copies of the 2012 Proposed Budget were available to attendees and line items were read by Clerk Lindgren.
Discussion regarding tough economy, desire to not raise taxes and keep the budget at 2011 amounts. Motion made by Tom Binder to keep 2012 budget at 2011 amounts. No second; motion failed.
Clarification of expense line item X15-Town Hall and X34-Maintenance also X25 New-Replacement Fire Equipment and X51 New/Replacement Equipment Fund. Discussion regarding effects to Township of cutting 2011 budget 10%, rising costs, decrease in state aid, and keeping the budget at 2011 amounts.
Motion made by Ken Bell to adopt the levy with the maximum allowable increase, second by Charlotte Jackson. All ayes. Motion Carried.
Meeting ended at 8:50 p.m. Reconvene to monthly board meeting.
